This workshop forms part of the Core Practitioner Suite — programmes covering the highest-utility product families and governance frameworks used in Islamic banking practice. It equips participants with working-level knowledge of select AAOIFI Shari’ah Standards, strengthening institutional control and assurance capability.
Why This Programme Matters
A solid grasp of Shari’ah Standards is foundational to sound product design, Shari’ah review, and compliance. This refresher addresses the implementation challenges practitioners face in translating standards into operational policies and daily transactions — covering both the requirements and the reasoning behind them.
Programme Approach
The workshop is structured over three days, with each session dedicated to a cluster of Shari’ah Standards. Delivery combines PowerPoint presentations, case studies, Q&A, and concept checkers. Participants are encouraged to bring live questions from their institutional context.

- SS (40) Distribution of Profit in Mudarabah-Based Investment Accounts
- SS (44) Obtaining and Deploying Liquidity
- SS (6) Conversion of a Conventional Bank to an Islamic Bank
Progression Pathway
This programme sits at the intermediate-to-advanced level. Participants are expected to have prior exposure to Islamic finance concepts. Those who complete this programme may progress to Specialist Workshops on governance, Shari’ah audit, or advanced structuring.
